FTT: Hard Work Isn't Always Hard

Happy Free Thoughts Thursday, people.

"Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow, and the day after that. Look at who you want to be, and start sculpting yourself into that person. You may not get exactly where you thought you'd be, but you will be doing things that suit you in a profession you believe in. Don't let life randomly kick you into the adult you don't want to become." — Chris Hadfield

1 Thought From Me:

Everyone knows that in order to be successful you have to work hard.

What many people don't know is that working hard doesn't always mean doing work that's hard.

Most of the time, the things we need to do aren't actually difficult.

What's difficult is getting ourselves to do them.

Things like sending emails, making phone calls, and working on projects aren't always challenging in and of themselves, but sitting down and doing those things every day for a year while also maintaining relationships, staying fit and managing your personal life certainly is.

The truth is: hard work isn't always hard. Sometimes it's just boring and monotonous and tiring, which can make it seem unimportant. The hard part is doing it anyway.

I'd argue that, most of the time, hard work isn't about doing work that's hard.

It's about doing work that's easy even when you don't want to.

Live your life to the fullest,

Chris
